EndNote 9.3 Update

11th March 2020

The X9.3.1 Windows update has been deployed for work and home today.

Please upgrade your home download to the new version if you plan on working with EndNote between your office PC and your home computer

Upgrading of files for home use needs to be coordinated with the work PC deployment.  This is important because once an EndNote Library has been opened in X9.3 it will not then open in earlier versions of EndNote - regardless of the operating system - ie this warning applies to both mac and windows users.

Ideally the updates at work and at home need to be done round the same time so that your EndNote Libraries are usable both at work and at home.  It will be frustrating and confusing if you encounter problems due to the lack of backwards compatibility in using your libraries of references.

Home PC users - latest upgrade is X9.3.1

Home Mac users - latest upgrade is X9.3.2

Further information for Mac users

If you use EndNote (version X8 backwards) on your mac computer and wish to upgrade your mac Operating System to macOS 10.15 (also known as Catalina) please do so in this order:

2.Delete the current EndNote software on your Mac - Click here for instructions to remove previous versions of EndNote.

3.Download from library website EndNote X9.3 (version X9.3.2) https://selibrary.health.wa.gov.au/endnote/endnote_at_home

4.Follow the macOs instruction on how to upgrade your macOS to macOS 10.15 (also known as Catalina)

However, if you have already upgraded to macOS 10.15 (also known as Catalina) before updating your EndNote program to EndNote X9.3 version, the EndNote app will be disabled in the Applications folder. To fix this, you would need to:
