Installation of a Bookmarklet on an Android Mobile

Part One: Creating the Bookmark

Open Chrome browser and view this page (the one you’re reading now)

  1. Tap on the star icon next to the URL
  2. Tap Save to create a bookmark
  3. Note where it saves, for example, In Mobile Bookmarks


Part Two: Editing the Bookmarklet

Select and copy the entire bookmarklet code shown below.

  1. Tap the menu options icon Android menu icon and select Bookmarks. Be sure you’re viewing Mobile Bookmarks or wherever you saved it
  2. Tap and hold to choose the Android bookmarklet bookmark and then Edit bookmark
  3. Delete text from address/URL field
  4. Paste to add the javascript code instead
  5. Tap Save


Using the Bookmarklet

NOTE: Bookmarklet is only needed if you go directly to a journal, database or article – not starting from a link on the SE Library website. - Clicked to view an article and not granted full access? Start typing the name you assigned to the bookmarklet into the address/URL above resource. Choose the suggestion with “javascript:void” below it to trigger the bookmarklet.

  1. You will be prompted to log in with your WA Health credentials.
  2. Once authenticated as South or East Metro staff, you should get access.
  3. You will remain authenticated until you close the browser.
