Wiley Back Files

"Study the past if you would define the future"  Confucius

The Library's funding request to purchase perpetual access to a set of journal back files from the publisher Wiley has been supported by the Western Australian Future Health Research and Innovation Fund's Research Infrastructure Support Program for 2024.  This will be a great boon to researchers and extends availability to the first published volume for the journal titles.

Most journals are online from 1996 or 1997 but many publishers have digitised their back files titles and made them available for purchase.  Online access benefits researchers and reduces shelving space needed.

This includes titles such as the Australasian Annals of Medicine now called Internal Medicine Journal - back to volume 1 in 1952 and the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Surgery - back to volume 1 in 1931.

The funding to provide the titles is very much appreciated.

A full list of the titles is available from this link.  There have been some journal name changes over time so some titles listed are former titles.  For example, the British Journal of Inebriety became the British Journal of Addiction to Alcohol and Other Drugs and is now titled Addiction.
