Hi Cheryl, Thanks for your advice and the links attached. After talking with you it makes sense that this manuscript does not contain DOI as a hyperlink.
Good morning Rogene and Taryn. Just wanted to send an email to thank you for the training yesterday. I found it very beneficial and I am sure the others did to. Thank you
Dear Taryn, Thank you so much for this; it is incredibly helpful.
Hi Claire Thank you so much for sending the articles through so quickly and for all your help.
Thank you so much !! I am very impressed by your promptness, and I am so indebted to your help because I can truly start on my abstract now.  I had no idea how to look for the literature out there before. Thanks again.
Thanks Cheryl – distributed to our services / clinicians. Best to you.
Taryn! Thanks! This looks great.  My provisional searches also provided little joy, so thanks for taking the initiative and broadening the search terms.
This is super useful and will certainly support our geko well!

Oh my gosh, how quick are you! So sorry I couldn’t seem to source it online myself. Thank you so much.
That’s awesome! Thank you. Bavaria no less. Who’d have thought…much appreciated.
Excellent! Thanks Cheryl I had heard chatter that this was being created. Thanks!

Expressions of thanks from clients 2019

There are 554 emails from clients in the 'thanks 2019' folder.  Library staff have been requested to routinely file any they receive.  The thanks are in response to all sorts of services and assistance provided - mostly literature searches provided, inter-library loans / document delivery services, technical support, EndNote assistance, emailed alerts, training, library orientation, etc.  Formal feedback is sought for literature searches and training but people often just send through a quick email.  Not all are reproduced below - just ones that say something more substantial than a simple thanks or ones that give a flavour for the depth of appreciation.

Very greatly appreciated – doctor says it is needed for a cancer diagnosis for a small child – thank you so much for your speedy help. [Document delivery supplied]
Hi Rogene, Thank you so much for assisting with literature search. I was really struggling to find any relevant studies to comment.  Your search has been truly enlightening, using the rate of change makes so much sense especially in the linear acceleration growth phase of the fetus.  Could you perhaps look at using fetal growth velocity to predict FBW? or velocity vs US predicted birth weight in determining true fetal birth weight?
Thanks Kathy   I received both – you provide a very fast and helpful service.  Much appreciated
I am so very appreciative - thank you - will help with a grant application that is due soon!
Thanks Taryn   I was being very optimistic here!  I think if we did it we would be breaking new ground.  Some brilliant items you have found me much food for thought
Thanks so much Cheryl, I had Browzine in the UK – such a great tool!   Looking forward to using the library services here immensely
Hi Cheryl and Martin,   I really appreciate your detailed replies and being able to source those articles so promptly.   My usual method of finding articles is by putting the title into "One Search".   Thanks for pointing out other ways that might be more successful next time.
Cheryl,  Thank you for send this.  Your occasional tit-bits of ED relevant new info is always appreciated.
Hi Cheryl   Thank you so much for the search and provision of information. It is very comprehensive and I will use some time this afternoon to trawl through the suggested content.   Really appreciate your support for our project.
Absolute gold – thank you Cheryl.
Hi Taryn,   I have filled in the survey but I would also like to say thankyou for the lit search that you did for me. It was extremely helpful and saved me a lot of time.   Have a lovely day.
Thanks so much Cheryl    In the end it was the youtube link you sent through that was the best for me in regard to finding vascular access with ultrasound - not just for the video that loaded (though that was pretty good), but also for the one that followed (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jMo4c_WShs) - which was very very good!    Thanks for looking into it for me - the clinical key ones were more about MSK aspects, rather than vascular access.    Thanks again for your help - much appreciated for when I am in the middle of the night and no-one can find a vein to cannulate!! I have done the workshop run by the anaesthetic department, but having that detailed recap is really worthwhile.  The other thing I have to do now is also make sure I know how to work the actual US machine that is on the ward!
Hi Rhonda,  Thank you for completing this work so quickly.   It will make my review much more comprehensive.
Good morning Taryn,  Thank you for providing me with these research articles.   You have done a great job to find these articles which will be really helpful to me.

Hi Marcia,  Thank you so much for undertaking this request so quickly and thoroughly.   Your promptness means that I can get this work done asap.
Hi Rina, Thank you for all this information, I have just had  look at the article by Anthea Sutton which was interesting and she raised factors I would not even think about.  The tutorials are easy to follow is does seem too good to be true!
Hi Marcia, Thank you for your comprehensive search of de–escalation techniques for teaching. These articles will greatly assist me in writing a report which will then be used by educators to revise their curriculum. Your expertise and prompt response are greatly appreciated.
That's fabulous Cheryl, Thank you so much for making this known to me. Look forward to collaborating with you into the future.
Rina this is great work! And I’m sure it represents many hours of work so just wanted to say thank you! ##### and I are meeting on Friday to progress this work further so we’ll get back to you regarding where to next.  Just as an initial reaction – it’s kind of exciting that you haven’t found a review article specifically on this topic. Thanks again, we’ll be in touch.
Thanks for this Cheryl, This is highly relevant to the work I’m doing at the moment. Appreciate you sending through.
Amazing, thank you! - advice on UK medications information options
Oh thank you! You always know! I will give this a try.   EndNote support on how to pull in clinical trial registry records

Marcia, thank you so much! you are an absolute legend.
Thanks so much – yes, these websites and articles look much more relevant.  Thanks again   Great service - very helpful

Hi Rogene, Thankyou very much for all the resources you have provided they are a great and there is most certainly enough !
I very much appreciate the work that you went too.
Thank you Cheryl. This is fabulous news. You have made my day.
Hi Bethwyn, Thanks for all you did to help #### get some copies made late yesterday.  I was more than a bit stressed as I found
myself unprepared for a presentation last evening and had asked ### for some help.  Of course that was the moment the machine decided
to run out of toner.  In the end all went well and the presentation, and the copies, were ready when our guests arrived.  Thanks again!
You and everyone in the library are great!
Hi Rhonda That’s awesome- thank you. Hopefully this will help make some families very happy!
Hi Rhonda, Thank you very much! The alert and the articles are really helpful. What a nice gift on a Tuesday morning :)

Good Morning Rhonda. Thank you very much. Please set it up. As you mentioned it is a very broad search but let’s not miss anything.

Hi Cheryl, Thanks so much for sending this programme link through. I had read one of the Kings Fund reports so this information and potential
contact is really helpful.
Hi Rina, You have done a great job with regard to this lit search. It just doesn’t seem to be a topic that people have evaluated or at least
published. I agree with your suggestion and will contact relevant hospitals to ask for information. Thank you again and wishing you both a
lovely Christmas and New Year.

Hi Rhonda, The link worked perfectly. There is much excitement in the office about this… we are easily pleased  Thank you for your assistance.
Hi Marcia. I was the supervisor. You assisted both with their systematic reviews for their psychiatry training. I thought your might like to see that both have also published their reviews and have acknowledged your invaluable assistance in undertaking this.
Both are clinically very useful reviews and well received by those that work in the area. I just wanted to thank you personally as it really is wonderful that they have both been able to learn so much through this process and your assistance in that is much appreciated. [Sys Reviews]
Thanks Marcia, very very helpful. Spot on! There is a real paucity of literature out there, so our case report will be quite useful and imminently publishable I think. I appreciate your help Have a great weekend [Lit search]

Thanks Stephanie Can I just take this opportunity to thank you and all of the other Library staff for such a fantastic service?  It is very much appreciated from my end.
Hi Rhonda, Yes thanks again for all your work helping us with this literature review and at such short notice. I am slowly reading through all the literature you sent through and am so impressed with what you were able to find! It has definitely helped me with some aspects of my practice and after meeting and discussing with our colleagues last week it will likely contribute to us updating our policy on managing malnutrition in the hospital. [Lit search]
Hi Marcia. Thank you so much for this review.  This is what I thought would be the case as I tend to get alerts on this subject matter and do not recall reading any.  I am currently liaising with my research colleague so will get back to you if there are any more questions.  Thanks again. [Lit search]
Thanks Cheryl this is very timely! I don’t routinely send you thank you replies for all the emails you have sent me with articles and information so as to not flood your inbox – so please take this email as my very appreciative thanks for all the information you send through. I have saved it all and refer to it regularly.
Hi Rina, Thank you so much for this information. Sorry it took me a couple of days to reply. Hi Rogene, I am back in town and kicking on with this SR. Thank you very much for your hard work. It looks amazing! [Literature search]
Dear Ms Mayberry. Just wanted personally send you a  thank you note!! For all your help in regards to finding my literature. You have been  amazing and greatly appreciated for everything you do. Have a lovely day.
Hi Marcia, I am about to submit my review for publication and I would like to include your name in the acknowledgements section, for your assistance with the search. Would this be OK with you?  [Acknowledgement of literature search]
Thanks Rhonda!  I’m glad to know that it wasn’t just my poor research skills that failed me, it was in fact a bit of a challenge! Thank  you again!!!   [difficult to track item]
Hi Alex...did you spot this independently? Thanks for your help with the searches. Took slightly more time than the couple of weeks I set aside, but worthwhile in the end!  [in response to an article alert related to a previous search]
ha- I’m impressed you forwarded me my own paper! I feel so grand…once in a lifetime you know
Thanks Marcia.  Just what I needed! You saved me a heap of time.  [literature search]
Thank you Marcia.  I will acknowledge your help for updating the literature search if my paper gets published. Hope for continuing support.
Hi Rina, Thank you so much for your help today, wouldn't know what I would do without you there! You made it so easy and stress free for me which I appreciate very much. I will try n login from home n will also look into joining the membership when I get the time.
Thank you so much Martin! My renal colleague and I are going to have a lot of fun with these!
HI Alex,  The search is perfect. Just starting to go through them now.  Also it is really helpful having the search in an endnote library.
This is absolutely fantastic. It’s a rough time of year to get results too!  Great work!  I really can’t believe it was an international / publication issue -> not just me. This is a very large, often cited study and I would expect its supplementary material to be available.  Thank you very much for your help.   [digital black hole - article put online with one publisher after moving from another - along the way some supplementary materials never made it online - required contact with current publisher who had to track back to the former publisher to obtain the digital copies and put them up on the current platform - took two months and emails round the world]
Hi Martin  Many thanks for doing this.  You always seem to get the short straw when it comes to me needing pages/chapters from books   I really do appreciate it
Thanks Steph,   Really appreciate it; you have helped a very grateful professor!    I find the hospital on-line library is superb but I just could not open Obstetrics & Gynaecology

Expressions of thanks from clients January to December 2016

In 2016 there were 1,028 emailed expressions of thanks filed with some extracted to display here.  Not all are shown - there are many many more that simply express thanks - mostly to the document delivery staff (Martin, Stephanie and Terri) who field large numbers of requests.

Hi Rogene  Thank you very much for such a quick response.
Thanks Rhonda.  I will start looking for the ‘Librarian of the year’ nomination form.  Should be somewhere here under ‘L’ … :)
Hi Cheryl,   Thanks for your indepth reply and it's a shame the website isn't ideal.  I'll look into further resources via staff development.  You have been a great help and I appreciate your swift reply.
Hi Cheryl  [from a new-to-health Notre Dame health liaison librarian] - You beat me to it !!! I wish I was the first to send you an e-mail to say a BIG THANK YOU to you and your staff for such a warm welcome and for a lovely morning tea. So here it is –  Thank you very much for the tour of the Library and  the Education building. And more importantly for imparting your wisdom and knowledge. I really do appreciate you taking out time from you busy schedule and sending across such useful links. Next time we meet, the coffee is on me.
Hi Alex, just wanted to say goodbye and thank you very much for all your assistance over the years with the lit searches. You’ve been a great help and very much appreciated. I’m retiring and today is my last day – so form here on it’s an entire new volume, not page or chapter, as they are not nearly a big enough  concepts. Ciao
Cheryl  This is great thank you _ it saves a lot of time and I distribute the most useful ones to our crew – thank you   [alert to a series of articles]
Good morning Cheryl, I sincerely appreciate your assistance and reply. As I said, I was just attempting to find answers or clues to such – which you provided. Thank you so much.
To Martin - Greatly appreciated, needed for an urgent patient care issue :)   [rapid supply of an article]
Hi Martin, Went to the library today....not to borrow books ha ha but to deliver some chocolates for all of you who helped me during this year with my studies.  Be sure to have at least one. Thanks again for helping me with my books.  PS:  I start again next year.
Hi Rogene  That is just amazing   Exactly what we wanted  Thank you so much
Hello Alex  Thanks. Picture is good. It is so clear that it also picks up the writing on the next page. However, it is much better than the one I had and I have already used it for 12.30pm lecture today.
Hi Alex,  On behalf of the ACCCN working party – many thanks for your very thorough lit search (critical care nursing). You always do such a great job and we really appreciate it.  Picture of a bunch of tulips
Thanks Cheryl, really appreciate your efforts
[Technical support with EndNote]  (What happened to the days when Librarians dealt with books & card catalogues?) - response - They went the way of the paper medical record!  Do sometimes feel like the unfunded accessory to IT. - Feedback - Sorry to hear that!  x8 installer works well, thanks.
Brilliant,  Thanks so much for taking the time Alex, I have been swamped:)
Hi Rogene,   Thanks so much for performing this search. You have identified a lot more than I had originally so thank you very much. Can you please confirm for me what search terms you used, any limitations on the search and the database used?
Thanks Rhonda – I can guarantee that your process efficiency is MUCH faster than me to download all these – so thank you!
Hi Rhonda  Thank you for your good work!  Yes – I just tried now. It didn’t work the first time but now is!  Also – it looks like you’ve downloaded the pdf’s as well – thank you, thank you, thank you!

Hi Rogene   You have saved me hours of work – very grateful.  Will share the link   Thanks a million    [Request for copyright free medical illustrations - Library staff created a new page under the Subject Guides called Images.  It has links to sites that allow download/use of medical illustrations]
Dear Rhonda  Thanks for the prompt reply. It is an issue and it was too complicated an area for me to search. I will pass on to the Co-Directors as it’s a topic of the moment across the hospital
Hi Rogene,  Attached is the feedback from yesterday’s session. Congratulations on all the positive feedback, it’s great to see staff enjoy and really benefit from the workshop, I will make sure to put it forward for next year. [AHS]
