Adding PDFs to EndNote references

It is important to remember:

  • Articles are not automatically attached to references when exported into EndNote 
  • PDF articles either need to be found via the 'Find Full Text' function OR downloaded and saved either as a file on your PC, to your desktop or on a USB, and then attached to the appropriate reference in your EndNote library.

To manually attach a PDF to a reference:

  1. In EndNote, click on the reference that you wish to add the PDF to
  2. Click on the Summary tab
  3. Click on +Attach PDF

  1. Select the saved PDF to match your reference
  2. Click on Open
  3. Click on File > Save
