EndNote: Information and User Guide

EndNote PowerPoint Plugin

The EndNote tab is also available in PowerPoint and allows you to insert citations and references into your PowerPoint presentations.

  1. From the EndNote tab select your preferred referencing style.

For in-text citations:

  1. Place the cursor where you would like the citation to appear.
  2. Use the Insert Citation or Insert Selected Citation(s) to add in-text citations.

To create a bibliography:

  1. Place the cursor where you would like your bibliography to appear (this is not automatically generated like in Word).
  2.  Use the Insert Reference or Insert Selected Reference(s) to insert a fully formatted reference in the style you choose.

Important Note: Unlike the CWYW feature in Word citations and bibliography entries are not encoded so you can edit and move citations around within your presentation as you like. Due to this however, it is not possible to automatically change the style of your previously inserted references and citations. Instead, change your style, then remove and reinsert the citations and references.
